Tho Ha is a small, picturesque village located on the banks of the Cau River, known for its traditional pottery, rice paper making, and ancient houses made of laterite.
During the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the narrow alleys and ancient houses of Duong Lam Village, as well as visit the local market and try some traditional Vietnamese cuisine. At Thay Pagoda, visitors can admire the intricate woodcarvings and learn about the legends and stories behind the temple’s history.

1 | Around 7.30 am, start your tour with driving 52 km on the bumpy road, on the way to Tho Ha village, having a good chance to enjoy the countryside pictures, farmers are working on the green field with water buffalo. After an hour driver, crossing Cau River by local ferry, we will walk aroud to visit local families and learn more about the local culture, with their daily works. Discover village through narrow and zigzag alleys with the old houses had been constructed from broken part of terracotta from the past. Walking over village cemetery to the dike, where you can see the village from distance over the beautiful lake. Now, Tho Ha village is known for rice wine or cassava wine, its pigs and rice paper cakes, and most recently the villages special walls have attracted film producers, painters, photographers. By mid-day, have lunch with local hosts and then guiding to visit one pottery family, workshop. Tho Ha pottery used to be fired with dry grass, and then firewood and coal. Businessmen came from Hanoi and surrounding locations, animating Cau River with boats and trade activity. In the early 1980s, Tho Ha villagers turned to making aluminum and plastic products, traditional cakes, and raising animals as pottery was gradually abandoned. After lunch, go back to Hanoi.
