Introduction
Song Xanh Sampan are designed for travelers looking for Private Cruise experiences in the Mekong Delta. The sampans “Song Xanh” offer a concept of fully private charter cruises for individuals, ideal for couples, or families with children.
The boats dimensions allow a deep discovery of the delta, its numerous canals and arroyos. Exclusive cruise itineraries have been designed away from touristic areas, and permitt an intimate approach of the authentic inhabitants life style and ancestral activities. While some meals are served on board, others are catered at ancient houses along the river allowing cultural exchanges and privileged contacts with the locals.
For those looking for a more active way to penetrate the delta, bicycles and a small rowing boat are also available.
On each sampan boat, a crew of 4 including an english or french speaking guide is pampering the guests. Exotic fruits, mineral water, green tea, and fresh towels are served on complimentary basis.

1 | Cai Be – Nha Man – Sa Dec (L/D) Meet us at Phu An Jetty at 10:00 am and start with a bicycle ride around this picturesque rural area, ending up at Le Longanier Restaurant. Lunch is served in this exquisite colonial-style villa set in a lush tropical garden by the river. After lunch, board the Song Xanh Sampan for a leisurely cruise on the busy waterways of the Mekong Delta, with stops along the way to visit local cottage industries that utilize products from the Delta like rice and coconuts. As we make our way down this famous river take in the local life as you pass by fisher folk checking their daily catch and floating houses imperceivably balanced on the mighty Mekong. Arriving at Sa Dec, step ashore and stroll through the colorful outdoor market. Visit the historic house of the real-life character in the acclaimed novel and film “The Lover” by Marguerite Duras. A candlelit dinner awaits at this dramatic house. Enjoy your first night on board the Song Xanh, on the Tien River. |

2 | Nha Man – Cai Tau Ha – Vinh Long (B/L/D) After breakfast on board, cruise towards Vinh Long along a narrow river, passing several houses on stilts to arrive at Cai Tau Ha, a quaint village. Take a stroll along the riverbank to visit a temple that makes traditional medicine from herbs or walk further into the village to see how blacksmiths make a variety of common farming tools and iron objects for everyday life. Lunch is then served back on board before we make another foray into a clay pot factory in Vinh Long. We will then head back to our sampan to further explore the small tributaries of the river. The last stopover before sunset is the tinny village of Vinh Long. Enjoy shore excursions to gain insight into how the local people make a living, and stop for a visit to a Cao Dai temple. Return on board for dinner while the Song Xanh continues its cruise towards the Hau River. Overnight on board. |

3 | Vinh Long – Cai Rang – Can Tho (B) We set off early at about 6:30 am to visit the famous Cai Rang Floating Market. Breakfast is served on board while the Song Xanh navigates towards the market among local barges laden with fruit and vegetables. Be sure to have your camera ready for photos from this unique vantage point! 2 | Cai Rang – Cai Von – Tan Phong (B/L/D) At about 6:30 am, set off early to arrive at the famous Cai Rang Floating Market at its peak. Breakfast is served on board while the Song Xanh navigates among dozens of local barges laden with rice and other products from the Delta. We will then cross the Hau river passing by quaint villages to visit a family who makes delicate tofu skin, a food product made from boiling soy milk with a plethora of uses. Continue by sampan, observe the endless boat traffic and the quiet but constant activity along the banks. Enjoy shore excursions to gain insight into how the local people make a living, and stop for a visit to a Cao Dai temple..Lunch is served on board while cruising towards Vinh Long along a narrow canal teeming with life. Stop along the river for the shore excursion to visit the countryside area. Back to Song Xanh sampan and continue to clay pot factory before crossing Co Chien River. Enjoy the sunset cruise while Song Xanh continues its way towards the Tiền River. Dinner and overnight on board. |

Continue to Phu An village and stop along the way to see local cottage industries that utilize products from the Delta, like rice and coconuts, to make tasty snacks including puffed rice and chewy coconut candy.
