Upon landing in Hanoi, greeted by our tour guide and driver. We bring you to your hotel in city center check in. There is no activity today except for one hour Water Puppet Show and a welcome dinner in a fine restaurant in town. Overnight in Hanoi.
Hanoi City Tour (B/L/-)
Breakfast at your hotel. Today is a full day exploring the Capital city of Hanoi. Let’s stop first at Ho Chi Minh Complex, containing Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, President Ho Chi Minh’s stilt House, and the Presidential Palace. All of them will bring you understanding the life of the greatest father of Vietnam. We then head to Tran Quoc Pagoda before visiting Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam dating back to 1070 from then, it is considered the educational symbol of the country. Lunch at restaurant in town. Afternoon, visit Ethnology Museum. Tour follows by a very relaxing trip around Hoan Kiem Lake (Restored Sword Lake) of which The Huc Bridge and Ngoc Son Temple will be the must-not-miss. Head back to Hanoi 36 streets to enjoy the cyclo ride around the old quarter. Just sit back and relax. The names of Hanoi 36 streets were originally related to the products being sold in each street; today much thing has changed, however, you can find everything here, from food to souvenirs. Let’s spend your time shopping here. Every tiny shop will bring you much surprise and interest. Back to your hotel after tour. Overnight in Hanoi.
Hanoi – Hoa Lu – Trang An – Train to Lao Cai (B/L/D)
Breakfast at your hotel. By 8.00 am, depart for Ninh Binh province (120km). We will stop at Hoa Lu – the capital of Vietnam in the 10th and 11th centuries then proceed to Tam Coc to cycle along village roads and visit the old temple Bich Dong. Have lunch in local restaurant with some local special dishes. After lunch, visit Trang An attraction – the new UNESCO World Heritage. You will get on a rowing boat while enjoying the scenery of cave complex, in mystery and wildness. We arrive back Hanoi in late afternoon. Dinner before boarding an overnight train to Lao Cai. Lao Cai – Sapa – Trekking to Nam Cang Riverside (B/L/-)
Arrive early in the morning in Lao Cai, have a transfer to Sapa where you will have breakfast. After breakfast you will meet your guide and soon you are on your way into the most remote part of Hoang Lien National Park, driving downhill to the starting point in the Tay minority village of Thanh Phu. The hike is through rice paddy terraces hill sides and you have many opportunities to enjoy magnificent valley view and encounter animals as water buffalos, mountain goats or pigs, which belong to the nearby Tay and Red Dao minorities. When you pass by a new village you will realize that you are “off the beaten track”, as the local people are looking interested and happy. All along the trail you will have a beautiful view towards Hoang Lien mountain range and some of the biggest rice fields in Sapa area. Your lunch is picnic lunch, served in beautiful surroundings. After lunch you will pass by one of few colorful Black Hmong villages in the area. Soon the walk ends in the small and remote Red Dao minority village of Nam Cang. Your accommodation is Nam Cang Riverside House, situated few meters from the river with own suspended bridge and with the jungle close by. The house is owned by a local Red Dao family and built into a small Inn with several twin or double rooms. The afternoon is perfect for exploring the quiet village or a swim in the river. |Lao Cai - Sapa|
Trekking along rivers and remote hillsides – Train to Hanoi (B/L/-)
You will wake up to the sound of the river and maybe happy minority kids swimming near the house. And maybe you would like your breakfast served at the big river front terrace and a beautiful morning view. Today your hike will take you higher up in the mountains, the trails are only used by local farmers and you will need to cross a few rivers before visiting a very remote Red Dao village of Nam Ngan. Your small group can enter a house and see the living conditions in the deep mountains, maybe you will be served a cup of tea or an optional rice wine as hospitality is important to all. Now the trail will decent into a bigger path and soon you will be in My Son, the village of one of the smallest tribes in this area, the Xa Pho minority. After a local lunch you will end your remote hike near the beautiful Muong Bo River and a waiting car for final transfer back to Sapa. In late afternoon, take transfer from Sapa to Lao Cai for the night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on train.

Hanoi – Halong (B/L/D)
Early arrive at Hanoi Railway Station. We arrange a day room for you to refresh. After breakfast, driver comes to pick you up for 3.5 hours ride through the countryside of the Red River Delta to Ha Long City. Water buffaloes, paddy fields and daily Vietnamese farmer life are on both sides of the way. Arrive Halong by mid-day. Embark your cruise, enjoy a lovely welcome drink and short introduction about the cruise, program and the crews. Enjoy lunch while cruising to magnificent parts of Halong bay, admire the fascinating formations on the way. This afternoon, you will have chance to visit a fishing village, do some kayaking, swimming or cave exploring. Back to boat for a drink on top deck while enjoying beautiful sunset over the bay. Tonight, a delicious dinner is served. Evening time is free at leisure, you can join squid fishing with the crews, playing board games or leisurely relax. Overnight on cruise.

Halong Cruising Day (B/L/D)
Wake up by the sound of the waves, let’s go up to cruise sun deck to enjoy morning tea whilst enjoying the fresh air and amazing view of the bay. Today, we will cruise to the further part of the bay, with active activities like kayaking, swimming… Lazy travelers can just stay on board and pamper yourself with spa service. Overnight on cruise.

This morning, early birds may want to join a Tai Chi class on the sun deck. Take in fresh air and morning view of the bay’s landscape with a cup of tea or coffee. We keep cruising to other parts of the bay before enjoy lunch while cruising back to the dock. Farewell to the lovely crews and disembark the cruise by mid-day. Driver will bring you back to Hanoi.
